David Armstrong: Living Free, Leading Boldly
Born in Tasmania in 1982, David Armstrong has spent his life pushing boundaries, chasing purpose, and inspiring others to live fearlessly. Raised in a family touched by addiction, David developed resilience, integrity, and a deep commitment to personal growth—qualities that have defined his path ever since.
At 23, he launched the world’s first Dive and Sail Antarctica expedition, taking adventurers beneath icebergs in one of Earth’s harshest environments. It was a bold move that showcased David’s adventurous spirit and entrepreneurial flair.
Building on that success, he founded Earth Sea Sky, delivering life-changing expeditions to places like Everest Base Camp, the Kokoda Trail, and war-torn Vietnam—where he led a healing journey for veterans retracing their steps through history.
Recognizing the need to prepare people mentally and physically for such experiences, David created ESS Performance, a groundbreaking high-performance training facility at Melbourne’s AAMI Park. Through mental toughness camps and nationally accredited programs, ESS empowered thousands of athletes to thrive in sport and life.
After a transformative awakening, David joined the fight against human trafficking on the Arizona border—a calling that deepened his purpose but also led to a personal challenge: a cancer diagnosis. Rather than be defeated, he turned the fight into his greatest adventure yet.
Out of that experience came the Living Free Movement—a community-driven mission focused on wellness, authenticity, and empowerment. Through events like the Living Free Festival, David now inspires others to reconnect with themselves, their values, and each other.
A devoted husband and proud father, David’s journey is one of fearless reinvention. From Antarctica to Arizona, boardrooms to battlefields, he continues to lead with courage, vision, and an unshakable belief in the human spirit.
