Once described as "harnessing the rational to illuminate the transcendental" the Hedflux project was born in 2004 with the intention to create high energy electronic dance music based on breakbeat grooves with a psychedelic aesthetic

The first Hedflux record 'Music is My Weapon' was released in 2007 and was well received by the community, later tracks like Mindcell and Revolve would come to redefine the niche genre of Psybreaks, and inspire a worldwide explosion of interest in the style

By 2012 Hedflux was a regular feature on the international club and festival circuit, establishing a solid reputation for independent original music and transformative DJ sets

The Wanderlust EP in 2013 marked a new direction of sound and style, taking the classic Psybreaks formula into different timings, tempos and grooves, breaking the mould and going on to be quite influential.

In 2015 Steven and his family moved west and spent 3 years living in the Americas, where the albums Soul Science and Kin were completed, and where Audio Alchemy was born.

In 2018, at the age of 40, with the wanderlust well and truly satisfied, he returned to his ancestral home in Scotland, settled down with his family and built a custom log cabin studio to be his permanent base of operations.

Since 2020, Steven has stepped back from touring but music has continued to release music in the form of The Philosopher's Tone, Diving Deep, Gnostalgia and The Soul-Fire Mixes.

In 2022 he began writing his first book, A Fool's Wisdom, which was self-published on April 1st of 2024, and became a Number 1 best-seller in the category of Philosophy of Science on Amazon.
